Redesignation: New Generation, New Approach

Summary
This workshop focuses on the special needs of the redesignating facility. The 2008 Application Manual for the Magnet Recognition Program® separates requirements for initial recognition and redesignation. While redesignating facilities have fewer Sources of Evidence to document, a greater emphasis is placed on outcomes. This workshop is designed for all levels of nurse leaders to assist facilities prepare for their redesignation journey. You may attend at any time along that journey.

Objectives
  • Explain the Magnet Model and its implications for redesignating facilities;
  • Discuss factors that strengthen your facility's Magnet culture;
  • Discuss strategies to sustain the Magnet culture between designations;
  • Discuss effective strategies to document sources of evidence for redesignating facilities.
