ANCC Is Seeking Candidates for the Commission on Certification

The Commission on Certification (COC) governs ANCC’s Certification Program. ANCC is seeking candidates to fill the following COC positions:
  • 2 Certified Nurse at Large members
  • 2 Content Expert Panel members (current or former members of an ANCC content expert panel)
The Certified Nurse at Large member must hold an active ANCC certification, a valid RN license and must practice in the role and population of his or her certification. Preference may be given to an advanced practice registered nurse.

The Content Expert Panel member is either a current or former member of an ANCC content expert panel, holds an active ANCC certification, holds a valid RN license, and practices in the role and population of his or her certification. Preference may be given to an advanced practice registered nurse.

Benefits
  • An opportunity to participate in the development of certification strategy and policy.
  • ANCC pays COC-related travel expenses including a per diem.
Commitment
  • Serve a 4-year term starting July 1, 2012.
  • Participate in monthly conference calls.
  • Travel to 2 in-person meetings per year held at the ANCC headquarters in Silver Spring, Maryland (near Washington, DC). The next in-person meeting is September 13-14, 2012.
Application Process - Apply by March 2, 2012
Submit the COC application with all supporting documents on or before March 2, 2012. A complete application package includes:
  • a completed Commission on Certification application
  • current curriculum vitae or resume
  • a current job description
  • letter of recommendation from your employer
